Diversion of the existing stream from the northwest downstream region of the Ahafo South TSF along the west to discharge into the natural environment southwest, as part of the 170MT TSF Raise. The 170MT Raise Construction involves earthworks and civil works to raise the existing Cell 1 Tailings Storage Facility. The Decant Pool Migration entails load and haul of saprolite, blended crushed aggregates and waste rock to form access ramps into the pool. The Weak Layer construction involves excavation of outstanding soil materials to 2m depth, compaction, backfilling with rocks, and construction of seepage drains, concrete culverts, and flow measures.
